Palo Alto, California-based Hewlett-Packard, one of the world's leading vendors of computer systems, has recently updated its product portfolio with the introduction of a new 27-inch LCD monitor, designed to provide users with an enhanced visual experience for their multimedia, gaming or professional computer system. The new monitor packs an interesting design and comes with support for the latest resolutions, including the Full High Definition 1920 x 1080 pixels, making it a noteworthy alternative for a Home Theater PC system.

Dubbed 2709m, HP's latest 27-inch LCD monitor has been designed to enable support for a high-quality viewing experience, whether we are talking about an office desktop, a multimedia and gaming rig or a professional desktop PC. According to the technical specifications of the new monitor, users will be able to take advantage of a Full HD 1920x1080 resolution with a 16:9 widescreen ratio and support for 92% of the color gamut. The monitor also comes with a 5ms on/off response time, 400 nits of brightness and a 1000:1 contrast ratio.

Additional features include the integrated 2-watt stereo speakers and the VGA, DVI-D and two HDMI connectors, available at the back of the large 27-inch display. The LCD doesn't come with more additional features, like some of the recent monitors released on the market. However, its large dimensions and the HDCP-compatible HDMI connectors make it an ideal choice for integration in an HTPC system.

As far as availability and pricing goes, the new monitor from HP is already available to order, coming with a price tag of US$499.99. On the whole, it comes with all the standard features that you'd expect from a large display for your PC, a variety of connectivity options, support for Full HD 1080p resolutions and a sleek overall design.
