HP and Leap Motion partner up yet again for a new keyboard

You might recognize the Leap Motion brand, because the company launched a pretty controversial sensor technology back in 2012 simply entitled the Leap.

The sensor looks akin to a pack of gum and can be connected to a computer by virtue of a USB, in order to be able to track all ten fingers of a user within 1/100 a millimeter.

But if you don’t like the idea of having the sensor sitting on your desk just like that, you should know now you can get the HP Leap Motion keyboard that arrives with a built-in sensor.

Leap Motion talked to Engadget and revealed the keyboard would start selling for $99 / €73 and be compatible with Windows 7 and Windows 8 PCs.

Leap Motion and HP worked together for another project, when they launched the HP Envy 17 laptop, which arrives with the sensor carefully built-in. But the laptop retailed for a pretty chunky price, so that turned off a lot of customers initially interested in the product.

The keyboard was previously compatible only with select HP desktop, but now Leap Motion is making it available for everybody.

Leap Motion technology allows users to control their apps by virtue of the wave of the hand. The company aims to completely transform computing into a fully immersive experience, and with the new affordable keyboard, it might as well succeed in convincing customers to pick it up.
