HP has just released the company's latest compact photo printer - HP Photosmart A516, according to Mobile Whack.

The most significant features of this photo printer are its weight - less than three pounds - and its size - 220 mm (w) x 113 mm (d) x 117 mm (h) - as it is made to travel with its owner, delivering the best images in various formats like realistic 4 x 6-inch, passport and panoramic photos.

HP Photosmart A516 has a special cartridge - the HP 110 Tri-color Inkjet Print Cartridge - which can print every image depending on the modes the user chooses. In this way, the images are printed differently in a passport, 4x6-inch or panorama formats, after they were first edited and improved using dedicated software, such as HP Photosmart Essential Software and HP Photosmart Premier Software.

Because of the special ink used for the cartridge, all the photos printed using HP's Photosmart A516 are dried instantly, water-resistant and, moreover, fade-resistant.

The user will be able to remove the horrible red-eye effect we all hate because of the special functions One-touch HP Photo Fix button offers. Not only the red-eye effect can be removed, but also, using the same button, the user can improve the sharpness, adjust settings like brightness, color and contrast.

The printer is both fast and cost efficient, being able to print 4 x 6-inch photos in 53 seconds for about 29 cents a print. Because of the optional HP Bluetooth Wireless Printer Adapter, the user can print directly from camera phones, notebooks or other Bluetooth-enabled devices. HP's printer is compatible with Microsoft Windows 98SE, Me, 2000, XP Home, Professional, x64 editions, Mac OS X v 10.3.9 or greater.

The manufacturer announced that its latest HP Photosmart A516 Compact Photo Printer will be available on the retail market in August at a suggested price of $99.
