The company packed these products with environmental friendly features

Hewlett-Packard introduced on Monday two new personal computers and a color display, all meant to help users reduce carbon footprint. The two computers the company unveiled, HP Pavilion Verde Special Edition a6645f and HP Pavilion Phoenix Special Edition a6655f, are powered by AMD energy-efficient processors (AMD Athlon X2 4850e Dual-Core Processor, speed 2.50 GHz, 1.0 MB L2 cache, 2000 MHz system bus and AMD Phenom X4 9150e Quad-Core Processor, speed 1.8 GHz, 2 MB L2+2 MB shared L3 cache, 3200MT/s system bus, respectively) and include recyclable packaging.

The 25.5-inch HP w2558hc Vivid Color Display comes with a whole set of new features, including a built-in webcam and 15-in-1 card reader, meant to enhance entertainment and connectivity. The leading computer maker also announced that the HP Compaq Presario, HP Pavilion, HP Pavilion Slimline and HP Pavilion Elite lines of desktop PCs were updated, and that the new configurations are able to fit the needs of any consumer, from entertainment enthusiasts to budget users.

The two new desktop PCs are ENERGY STAR qualified and also fit the standards for Silver registration in the Electronic Products Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT). The personal computers come with advanced power management features designed to offer up to 45 percent energy savings. Also, the two machines feature a 100 percent recyclable packaging with less plastic foam.

As their names suggest, the two machines have been designed with environment in mind. For those that do not know, “verde” means “green”. “The Phoenix and Verde desktops represent HP’s ongoing efforts to innovate and design for the environment,” said John Cook, HP’s vice president, Marketing, Worldwide Consumer PC Business. “HP is committed to offering consumers and businesses computing alternatives that can reduce energy consumption and lessen their overall eco-footprint.”

The HP Pavilion Phoenix Special Edition a6655f desktop PC packs up to five GB of memory, a 640 GB hard drive, Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit edition with Service Pack 1, a front-panel 15-in-1 memory card reader, as well as a SuperMulti DVD burner with LightScribe technology which allow users to create custom labels and artwork directly onto discs. The machine also includes a stunning design which symbolizes the mythical phoenix. The HP Pavilion Verde Special Edition a6645f desktop PC features a nature inspired pattern on the chassis and a 500 GB hard drive.

The new 25.5-inch diagonal widescreen flat panel display from HP comes with a range of features which are meant to offer enhanced entertainment, connectivity and performance. Besides the built-in 15-in-1 card reader which allows photos and slideshows to be viewed even when the PC is turned off, the display also features a built-in two-megapixel webcam which enables users to use video chat. The new display includes multiple USB ports and digital outputs providing more connectivity to external devices, and also has built-in speakers. The HP w2558hc is ENERGY STAR qualified and comes with a Power Saver feature which enables reducing energy consumption.

The HP Pavilion Verde Special Edition a6645f Desktop PC and HP Pavilion Phoenix Special Edition a6655f Desktop PC are expected to hit the market on November 9 through Circuit City exclusively, with prices starting from $579 and $659, respectively. The HP w2558hc color display is already available through HP Direct as well as select retailers, at a price starting at $599.
