After munch anticipation, Palo Alto, California-based HP has decided to officially introduce its new desktop computer system, designed in collaboration with the company's gaming subsidiary, Voodoo PC. The new HP Firebird comes to provide computer enthusiasts with a new PC that can provide a true performance experience, inside a small and lightweight form factor.

The new system is the successor to the company's award-winning Blackbird 002 and comes as a solution to the world of desktop computing. Users attending this year's Consumer Electronics Show, in Las Vegas, Nevada, will be able to set their eyes on the new gaming rig, as well as on other new products, recently introduced by the leading PC maker.

“Our new fashion-forward notebooks and desktop set a new standard for exceptional multimedia and high-performance computing experiences,” said Satjiv S. Chahil, senior vice president, Worldwide Marketing, Personal Systems Group, HP. “HP customers have come to expect the combination of great looks and outstanding performance, and we believe these new products will delight.”

The new Firebird is specifically designed for high-performance gaming, but, unlike other desktop gaming rigs, the new system from HP comes in a more convenient form factor. It allows users to take advantage of some of the latest computer hardware components, including Intel's Core 2 Quad processors, dual NVIDIA 9800GS small form factor graphics cards in SLI configuration and hot-swappable 320GB dual hard disk drives. In addition, thanks to the help provided by the Voodoo team, the new system has been featured with an advanced thermal management system.

Despite the Firebird's small form factor, the PC maker has managed to integrate a liquid-cooling system, specifically designed to boost the performance of the computer, while keeping the noise level down to a minimum. This allows the system to compete with other gaming rigs that usually take up a lot more space.

According to HP, the new Firebird with Voodoo DNA will become available for purchase on the VoodooPC website, on January 9, with a price tag starting at $1799. The system will hit the stores starting on February the first.

In order to better promote its new desktop PC, the company has put out a video on YouTube, which you can take a look at, after the photo gallery.
