If a netbook is popular, it is generally because, despite having only entry-level computing capabilities, it is highly portable, cheap and has extensive connectivity capabilities. HP, however, seems to think that there is still room for improvement and, as such, has worked in collaboration with the world-renowned designer Vivienne Tam on turning such devices into what HP calls “the next 'must-have' accessory.” The new HP Mini 210 Vivienne Tam Edition is light, thin, comes with a special theme and can easily fit into bags or purses, making it appealing to women around the globe.

“As a fashion designer I have always found inspiration in bringing contrasting worlds together,” Tam said. “I use computers in every aspect of my life so it seemed natural to marry fashion and technology. Together with HP, we created this movement of fashionable tech accessories with the second-edition digital clutch.”

The new netbook weighs only 2.7 pounds and is less than 1 inch thin. It has a storage capacity of up to 320GB, a 10.1-inch, LED-backlit display and a keyboard that is 93% the size of standard notebook PC keyboards. The mobile computer also has 2GB of RAM, automatic backup software and runs the Windows 7 operating system. These specs aim to make the device excellent for “the highly mobile, Internet-centric fashionista.”

The HP Mini 210 Vivienne Tam Edition uses the “Butterfly Lovers” design, integrated directly into the netbook's lid through the use of HP Imprint technology. The mobile PC also comes with high-performance audio software acquired in partnership with Beats by Dr. Dre. These sound capabilities were previously only available for HP Envy notebooks and will complement the elegant design with high-quality audio.

The HP Mini 210 Vivienne Tam Edition will become available on March 19, at a price of $599, with the Butterfly Lovers HP Wireless Mouse set to debut on the same day, at a price of $39.99.
