A few weeks ago the HP Slate 7 Beats Special Edition tablet was spotted getting its Wi-Fi certification, but not much info was available about it.

Now the first few pictures of the device has been leaked into the wild, via the the guys of Mobile Geeks, showing us a fiery red slate is coming our way. The Special Edition was also spotted clearing the FCC.

Before we didn’t know what the Slate 7 name could be referring to. There were several options taken into consideration, including the Slate 7 Plus and Slate 7 Extreme.

Turns out, the new tablet is a variant of NVIDIA’s popular Tegra Note 7 slate. The device has a 7-inch screen with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and we find a 1.8GHz quad-core Tegra 4 processor under the hood, fitted with 16GB of internal storage. The tablet is being offered with a smart stylus, as well. In the US, the device sells for $199 / €145.

So it appears the new HP Tegra Note will arrive with Beads Audio embedded, but the Special Edition might also mean HP is willing to throw in Beats headphones along with the tablet to sweeten the deal or maybe a subscription to Beats Music will be given off when users purchase the product.
