After releasing some brand-new Radeon HD 6850 IceQ graphics cards a while ago, featuring a custom cooling system, HIS decided that implementing the same system on some of the other cards in its roster would be a pretty good idea and thus released the HIS 6870 IceQ X TURBO and 6870 IceQ X models, both of which go above the performance levels enabled by the reference designs. Before moving to the topic of graphics performance, we'll have to mention that, due to the innovative IceQ cooling system, the IS 6870 IceQ X Series is over 15°C cooler than the Reference Cooler, its 4 heatpipes helping the card optimize cooling performance by removing heat from the core area.

Furthermore, the HIS 6870 IceQ X Series is over 15dB quieter than the Reference Cooler, significantly reducing noise level.

Now, moving to the performance, HIS reveals the fact that the Radeon HD 6870 IceQ X has GPU/memory clocks of 900/4200 MHz, while the Radeon 6870 IceQ X TURBO reaches 975/4600 MHz clocks, both models providing a 256-bit memory interface, 1GB of GDDR5 VRAM, and dual-DVI, HDMI and two mini DisplayPort outputs.

It's also quite important to point out that the HIS IceQ X Turbo models are bios-overclocked out of the box, granting users access to an absolutely impressive horsepower potential.

Additional high-end components used within these graphics cards include a Dynamic Phase Control PWM IC for reducing power consumption, Solid State Choke (SSC) that can maximize current capacity, power efficiency and stability, as well as Full Solid State Capacitors for a longer functioning life.

Now, moving on to the part many of you have been eagerly waiting for, namely the one related to pricing and availability details, we'll have to point out that the Radeon HD 6870 IceQ X should arrive in Europe in the immediate future for around 210 Euro, but no pricing details regarding the TURBO version have been provided just yet.
