It was only a matter of time before Advanced Micro Devices launched yet another DirectX 11-capable graphics adapter and the company has now finally introduced its latest model. Known as the ATI Radeon HD 5830, this card aims to further increase AMD's head start on the DirectX 11 front. Of course, AMD's parters have already started showing off their respective versions, with PowerColor having already revealed an overclocked model. HIS has, naturally, decided to not tarry behind and has come out with two of its own.

Known as the HIS Radeon HD 5830 iCooler V and iCooler V Turbo, both devices boast 1,120 stream processors, 1GB of GDDR5 memory, a 256-bit memory interface and support for the ATI CrossFireX and ATI Stream technologies. Of course, the adapters also feature the ATI Eyefinity technology, which can be taken advantage of through the card's HDMI, Display port and dual-DVI outputs.

The iCooler V version of the graphics adapter has the same clock frequencies as the reference card, namely of 800MHz for the graphics processing unit and of 4000MHz for the memory. It is the iCooler V Turbo that boasts clock optimizations, having a GPU frequency of 840Mhz and a memory speed of 4400MHz. Both devices get their names from the eponymous iCooler V cooling mechanism, which uses a specially designed fansink and fins that extend beyond the cooler itself, in order to effectively dissipate heat.

In trying to increase the competitiveness and appeal of its cards, HIS is offering them not only as stand-alone products, but also in a bundle with the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 PC game. Both adapters are compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 operating systems and are paired with the BumpTop 3D desktop environment. Full information on each of the products may be found on their respective official product pages.
