Since AMD-based Radeon HD 6950 video cards with less memory have been revealed, it was only natural for HIS to do the same, and it appears that the 6950 Fan 1GB has finally been added to its maker's website.

Not long ago, the first test results of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 video card were leaked and revealed them to be about the same as those of AMD's Radeon HD 6950.

Then again, Advanced Micro Devices also decided to make its HD 6900 cards more affordable, or at least release some cheaper models with less memory, 1 GB instead of 2GB to be exact.

One such board has already been listed, having been developed by Sapphire, and HIS has now followed up with its own.

The card bears the name of HIS 6950 Fan 1GB and, despite how some might wish for factory overclocking, sticks to the reference performance parameters.

That said, the graphics processing unit (GPU) has a speed of 800 MHz, while the GDDR5 memory works at 5,000 MHz.

One can also notice the custom cooler, which uses a single fan, set at the very center, to disperse heat, while the dual-DVI, HDMI and dual mini DisplayPort outputs are perfectly visible on the end of the board.

Needles to say, AMD's various technologies, like Eyefinity, Stream and CrossFireX (for multi-GPU setups), among others, are supported, in addition to the obligatory DirectX 11.

Unfortunately, while the official product page has already been added to the Hightech Information System website, no word exists on pricing.

Still, sales are expected to start soon, by the end of the month that is, around the same time as the release of NVIDIA's GTX 560.

Either way, until that happens, end-users looking to cast a direct glance over all available information need only drop by this page.
