Here is some troubling news that doesn't really have too much in common with the mobile industry. It looks like a gynecologist accidentally left a cellphone inside a patient's belly following a C-section.

Gulf News reports a Jordanian gynecologist is said to have mistakenly left his cellphone in his patient's abdomen last month.

Hanan Mahmoud Abdul Karim, 36, was hospitalized in Amman for a C-section on April 24, Jordanian media reports. Unfortunately, during the procedure the doctor allegedly misplaced his mobile phone in the woman's belly.

Although the procedure was successful, as Hanan gave birth to a 4.8 kg baby boy, she noticed after she was discharged from the hospital that her abdomen was vibrating occasionally.

“My daughter suffered serious pains and could not move. I brought her back to the hospital where she was treated but nothing was done for her,” Majeda Abdul Hamid, the patient's mother, said.

The victim's abdomen had soon started to vibrate

According to the Jordanian media, Hanan was then hospitalized again in Amman where X-rays showed that she has a foreign object inside her abdomen.

The good news is Hanan's belly isn't vibrating anymore because physicians in Al Bashir hospital operated her and removed the foreign object which proved to be a cellphone.

The case made headlines in Jordan and reached the country's parliament where one member, Salim Al Bataynah, asked the government to resign due to the scandal:

“In countries which show respect to their nations, and following such scandals, governments usually resign. The parliament should show responsibility and be on the level of the case.”

On the other hand, a Jordanian Health Ministry spokesman said that the story that quickly tuned into a huge scandal was “baseless and a fabricated one.” He also said that the ministry would keep a close eye on the claim and would issue an official statement when the investigation is over.
