As she’s getting ready for her big comeback with No Doubt, Gwen Stefani is also opening up on things she would not normally talk about with the press, such as her marriage to Gavin Rossdale, their gorgeous family and her now shattered dreams of having another child.

The always stunning (and fit) Gwen is featured in the October 2012 issue of Marie Claire, in a gorgeous photospread and with a very revealing interview.

She always praised motherhood and spoke of her two adorable kids as of her biggest accomplishment, but Gwen has never opened up about wanting one more.

She does so now.

“I really, really, really wanted one about two years ago. And it didn’t really work out. So… I feel good with what we’ve got. Everything works out how it should,” the singer explains.

“You can’t plan anything, right? You can try,” Gwen adds.

Even though she wanted three kids, she still has a handful with her two sons who, as per her own words, never stop fighting.

“From the moment they wake up, they start beating on each other. I never knew they would be so physical. They’re just starting to play real well together, but with a lot of fighting. They do look out for each other – especially the little one, he really loves his older brother,” she says.

Making her marriage last for so many years is also something Gwen is very proud of because it takes daily effort to make it work.

She calls it a “miracle” and, at the same time, her biggest dream come true. As for her partner in crime, British rocker Gavin Rossdale, as expected, she has nothing but amazing things to say.

“[Our relationship] is better than it’s ever been. Like, we’re learning about each other all the time. He’s an amazing dad, he works so hard – I can hear him writing songs through the wall, and it is at a much quicker pace than me!” she says.

“He balances me out. And he – he never stops liking me, which is awesome! It makes me feel happy, that someone likes me as much as he does,” the singer further says.
