14 DAY TRIAL // A “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie is happening whether we like it or not but, now that Gus Van Sant’s name is in the mix, I’m suddenly more tempted to see it. Apparently, the director wants Alex Pettyfer as Christian Grey.
The Wrap reports that the director teamed up with the “Magic Mike” star to shoot a screen test, a love scene – to be more specific, the scene in which Christian Grey first makes love to Anastasia Steele (no word on who played her).
The screen test was not commissioned by the movie studio, the movie-oriented publication notes. “But [Van Sant] doing so may indicate how badly he wants the coveted assignment,” The Wrap adds.
In other words, Van Sant and Pettyfer did this to convince the studio that they would make a great team if signed to the project.
