Guns N’ Roses are not letting the rather lukewarm reception of their previous album, the much mediated and derided “Chinese Democracy,” put their down: confirmation comes straight from the band that they’re working on a new material.

Speaking with media representatives at a recent event, GNR guitarist DJ Ashba has confirmed that, indeed, the band is back in the studio, working on new music, DigitalSpy reports.

This time, fans will be blown away by the tracks included on the album, Ashba promises, since Axl Rose has come up with some excellent material.

Moreover, fans won’t have to wait for so many years until they hear the new tracks, Ashba says, hinting at how long “Chinese Democracy” took to materialize – over a decade and many millions of Axl’s own money.

“We’re talking about that right now. We’ve been throwing around a bunch of ideas and it should be good. We’ve got a lot of good stuff on the plate coming out... It won’t take as long, I promise!” the rocker says of plans for a new album.

“I’m excited to get this next one rolling. Lot of great [stuff] – Axl [Rose] has a lot of good [stuff] up his sleeve – so I’m really excited about it,” the guitarist adds.

As for plans for the immediate future, “I just got home from the Guns N’ Roses tour, I flew in from Moscow and we head out the 27th to Australia – then we’re back here in the States doing a tour in February,” Ashba says.

“Chinese Democracy,” the first album of the reformed Guns N’ Roses (Axl Rose is the only original member left), came out in November 2008, after countless delays and lots of rumors as to whether it would ever come out.

It did not receive the critical reception expected, and even many fans found fault with it. To add insult to injury, one year later, Axl and Guns were accused of plagiarism (an allegation they bitterly denied) and had a $1 million lawsuit filed against them.

As of now, no estimative release date has been announced, but rest assured you’ll find out about it here.
