Music games are extremely popular these days and one of the series most emblematic to the genre is Activision's Guitar Hero franchise. It has already broken revenue records with its previous iterations, like Guitar Hero III, and the latest release, GH: World Tour, is selling like the proverbial hot cakes.

As March is already close to the end, Activision has now announced the tracks that will appear for GH: World Tour in the month of April. The lineup is pretty robust, with famous bands like Nirvana, The Pixies or Motorhead bringing new songs to the Xbox Live Marketplace, the PlayStation Store and Wii Music Store.

The first update will be made on April 2, when fans will get three new alternative rock tracks from The Pixies, as Debase and Monkey Gone to Heaven from the Doolittle album and The Sad Punk from Trompe le Monde will be released.

Silversun Pickups will take the stage on April 9, also bringing three tracks for people to play in Guitar Hero: World Tour. Panic Switch and It's Nice to Know You Work Alone from the Swoon album will be present, alongside Well Thought Out Twinkles from the band's first album, Carnavas.

Classic rock fans will get a double dose of nostalgia in the following weeks, as 70s rock band Steely Dan will be bringing Black Friday, Kid Charlemagne and Bodhisattva on April 16. And on April 23 British hard rockers Motorhead will launch new re-records of Jailbait, Love Me Like a Reptile and Iron Fist.

The end of the month will bring some very interesting songs from cult grunge band Nirvana, as Very Ape, Sappy and Stay Away will all be available for purchase for Guitar Hero: World Tour on April 30.

All of the tracks packs will be available on the Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Store, with the bulk price of 440 MS Points or 5.49 euros/3.99 pounds sterling. Also, you can download the tracks individually for just 160 MS Points, 1.99 euros/1.59 pounds or 200 Wii Points.
