Quite a few songs

Music games are extremely popular these days with both fans and their developers, as they provide a great experience from which a lot of profit can be extracted, by either selling peripherals or downloadable content like new songs.

One of the major new music game releases will be Guitar Hero 5, developed by Neversoft and set to be published by Activision. We've already seen the massive set of bands and artists that will grace the title with works from their repertoire. The game has now received a partial tracklist with the concrete songs that will be available for would-be rockers to play.

From Beastie Boys to Blur or Bob Dylan, it will feature a lot of well-known artists and bands. Hopefully, we will get to see many more new tracks in the title, which will battle it out in sales with Harmonix's The Beatles: Rock Band that will appear two weeks after it.

Band Of Horses - "Cigarettes, Wedding Bands"? Beastie Boys - "Gratitude;" Beck - "Gamma Ray;" Billy Squier - "Lonely Is The Night;" Blur - "Song 2;" Bob Dylan - "All Along The Watchtower;" Children Of Bodom - "Done With Everything, Die For Nothing;" Coldplay - "In My Place;" Darkest Hour - "Demon(s);" David Bowie - "Fame;" Deep Purple - "Woman From Tokyo ('99 Remix);" Elliott Smith - "L.A.;" Iggy Pop - "Lust For Life (Live);" Jeff Beck - "Scatterbrain (Live);" John Mellencamp - "Hurts So Good;" Kings Of Leon - "Sex On Fire;" Queens Of The Stone Age - "Make It Wit Chu;" Rose Hill Drive - "Sneak Out"? Santana - "No One To Depend On (Live);" The Bronx - "Six Days A Week"? Thrice - "Deadbolt;" Tom Petty - "Runnin' Down A Dream;" Vampire Weekend - "A-Punk;" Wolfmother - "Back Round."

Overall, Guitar Hero 5 is shaping up quite nicely and will be filled with interesting features. Do you think that it will stand a chance in front of The Beatles: Rock Band, or will its wide variety of artists and songs be enough to make the most popular band of all time forgotten? Leave us a comment with your thoughts on the matter.
