And a motion poster that is just as stunning

One of the most anticipated releases of the year is this October’s “Crimson Peak,” written and directed by Guillermo Del Toro. The first trailer promised an old-fashioned gothic horror, backed up by solid performances from an A-list cast.

Two new trailers have been released, and they further confirm this: if you’re a fan of a good horror movie (and not just of silly slashers), this one is for you.

“Crimson Peak” tells the story of a young author who is seduced by the ever-fascinating “outsider” and carried off to his family home. Here, she will soon find out that the house is more than just a structure of bricks and mortar, and that it lives, that it “breathes, bleeds… and remembers,” as the official synopsis puts it so wonderfully.

The author is played by Mia Wasikowska, while the handsome stranger is Tom Hiddleston. Jessica Chastain plays his sister, while Charlie Hunnman plays the author’s good friend and secret admirer.

Embedded below are the two trailers: the first one, released on Facebook, is the US version, while the other is the international trailer. It offers a bit more of backstory and fewer scares, which is why it’s best that you check out both.

As a bonus, we also have a motion poster for the film, released by Warner Bros. hours before the trailers. This one too is beautiful and scary, in a way in which only a good horror movie can be.

“Crimson Peak” has the blessing of the master of horror himself, author Stephen King. He also gets one of the pull quotes in the trailer.
