Grim Fandango Remastered is coming out on January 27, and pre-orders for it are already open on GOG.

The game will be released at a price point of $15 / €12, and the system requirements list that you'll need up to 4 GB RAM and a GPU that supports OpenGL 3.3 or higher.

The major improvements from the old version (aside from actually being available) are repainted, high-resolution character textures, new dynamic lighting, the classic score re-recorded with a full orchestra, as well as some neat goodies, in the form of concept art and 2 hours of developers commentary.

Double Fine Productions, Tim Schafer's new gig, is aiming to allow a new generation to experience what is considered one of the most enthralling adventure video games ever made, in a modern incarnation that stays true to the original's spirit but makes it fit better on bigger screens.

The game was initially revealed at last year's E3, and now it's finally coming out, with reworked controls polished features, and the same unforgettable characters and unique aesthetic, merging Mexican folklore with film noir, that secured its place as a classic.

The game will be available starting January 27, headed to Windows PC, Mac OS X and Linux, and to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita gaming devices from Sony.
