The action role-playing game is shaping up to be a promising game

Developer Crate Entertainment has released the Act II for the early access version of the upcoming action role-playing game Grim Dawn.

After teasing us with a couple of concept art images and a livestream earlier this month, the game-makers have decided to finally launch the second act for their Steam Early Access supporters, effectively doubling the content available in-game.

The game is set in a sort of unconventional post-apocalyptic world, with humankind caught in the middle between two otherworldly forces, one of which intends to use humans as an undead army while the other is bent on eradicating humanity before that can happen.

Players have to venture in the unforgiving and brutal world, trying to make sense of the situation and eventually finding out whether there is any way to stop the impending demise of humankind.

You can head over to our preview of Grim Dawn for additional information on the game, as it was in Act I, and read on for more on Act II.

The addition of Act II is said to offer roughly double the amount of playable content, and raises the level cap up to 35.

The developers also tell that numerous general improvements have been made to the game, including a redesign of the heads-up display, improved lore codex, enhanced visuals and a ton of new loot and quests.

Crate Entertainment informed that they would revisit Act II in the near future to add more content and balance the existing one, as they did with Act 1, and they also announced their plans to expand the "Steps of Torment" challenge and add an extra quest.

Other incoming features are blacksmith / recipe crafting, a new quest reward display and dual wielding of pistols, as well as the integration of Act III content.

The update also comes with a warning, as the Nightblade mastery has been significantly revised, rendering some skill point assignments invalid and resulting in loss of skill points.

Some of the notable improvements are a codex page to the quest log window, extremely helpful for storing collected notes, comparison tooltips for in-world items that can be activating by holding Alt and hovering over an item on the ground and "force move" keybinds that will prevent the targeting of enemies and objects.

The extensive array of added features can be located in the official Grim Dawn B17 2.3.0 Change Log, where all the content additions, changes and tweaks are listed.
