Yup, the “Fifty Shades of Grey” phenomenon isn’t going anywhere soon. Almost one week ago, author E.L. James announced that she was coming out with a companion book called “Grey,” one that would tell the story from the perspective of leading man Christian Grey.

In the original bestselling trilogy, on which Universal Pictures is basing its latest film franchise, the story is told by Anastasia Steele, the female protagonist.

So while “Grey” wouldn’t bring anything new to the table in terms of plot developments, it should prove interesting to the loyal fans because it will show the S&M-tinged tale through his eyes.

And if you’re one of the millions of fans, there’s more: chances are more spinoff books are in the works, as this new tweet (below) from James seems to indicate. Asked if “Grey” will cover events from all 3 books, she says it will only apply to the first one, “Fifty Shades of Grey,” which leaves the door open to the possibility of coming out with 2 more companion stories.

The book release announcement has also sparked new questions about the film franchise, in that the fans want to know if Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan would appear in a fourth movie as well. They probably won’t: they have 3-picture contracts, and even if they were up for more negotiations, chances are Universal won’t want a fourth movie because it would not make sense retelling the story.

This is a classic case of how something can work in print but not on the big screen, so at least moviegoers are safe.

Hello all. For those of you who have asked, Christian's POV of #FSOG is published on 18th June for his birthday. It's called GREY... I hope you enjoy it. #FiftyShades #Grey A photo posted by E L James (@erikaljames) on Jun 1, 2015 at 5:00am PDT
