Earlier this month, Greenpeace has released a report saying that kids clothes and footwear marketed by several major brans contain toxic chemicals that endanger both public health and the environment.

This January 21, the organization is asking for help convincing luxury fashion house Burberry – i.e. one of the “bad guys” in its report – to go green and rid its supply chain of harmful chemicals.

“Our latest investigations reveal that children's clothes sold by Burberry come infested with hazardous Little Monsters,” Greenpeace says.

“All but one children's clothing items tested for this brand contained hazardous substances including perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs) and nonylphenol ethoxylates, which can break down in the environment to form toxic and hormone-disrupting substances,” it adds.

The organization is asking that people who care about the environment and about the health of their loved ones take to Twitter to shame Burberry for selling such clothes, and urge the fashion house to “detox” without delay.

“@Burberry Toxic chemicals don't go away like fashion fads - #Detox now and stop using these harmful #LittleMonsters!” and “@Burberry #Fashion is more beautiful without toxic chemicals. #Detox now!” are examples of messages that people can send the fashion house.

Given the fact that Burberry has some 2.5 million followers on Twitter, Greenpeace is confident that this campaign will hit its target.
