The WWF is asking people to symbolically adopt a threatened or endangered animal

The World Wildlife Fund is now asking that greenheads worldwide agree to adopt representative of various endangered species, and thus help promote conservation.

Their website explains that all one has to do is donate some money (each species comes with its own price tag), and this will pretty much seal the deal on a symbolic adoption.

Some of the animals listed as “adoptable” are snow leopards, dolphins, great white sharks and meerkats, and the complete list encompasses many more species.

As proof of their good deed, those who agree to adopt a threatened or endangered animal will receive a so-called adoption kit, which comprises a species info card, a plush replica of the animal and an adoption certificate.
