Looks like Green House has finally gotten around to unleashing a new multi-purpose display, one that should already be shipping to customers.

Green House has just finished revealing a display that may end up acting as a TV or a monitor, depending on who buys it.

Dubbed GH-TV22JLHDK, it is not so much a Smart TV, but a monitor with all the ports it needs to fill in the role of a television set.

That is to say, Green House did not go all the way and throw in USB and LAN, but it did implement a digital TV tuner and Composite connector.

Outside the wide PC and amplifier/media player support, the newcomer is not all that revolutionary.

Though the LED backlighting does give it a measure of energy efficiency, LED in general is no longer rare at all.

Furthermore, the 1,920 x 1,080 pixels resolution (Full HD) is basically mainstream now, as is the contrast ratio of 1,000:1.

Moving on, the panel features a brightness of 250 cd/m2 and a response time of 5ms, plus a pair of 2.5W speakers.

All of the above, along with SRS TruSurround XT sound technology, are packed inside a frame of 21.5 inches.

Finally, in addition to the aforementioned digital TV tuner and Composite port, the Green House GH-TV22JLHDK is designed with D-Sub and HDMI outputs.

All in all, this is a fairly standard monitor, one that also has the interfaces needed to receive cable/satellite TV broadcasts.

The price is of $297, which translates into 235 Euro according to current exchange rates, give or take.

Right now, the item seems to be for sale only in Japan (orders can be set here), but it shouldn't be long before other retailers from all around the world, or at least the US, begin to offer it as well.
