Starting today, owners of devices running under Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 operating system can download and install the Gravity Guy 2 mobile game, available exclusively on this platform for the next month or so.

The title has been released in the Windows Phone Store with a price tag of $2.99 attached to it, but a free trial has also been included, for those who would like to take it for a spin a bit before making the acquisition.

As Microsoft’s Michael Stroh explains in a recent blog post, the sequel picks the story up where the predecessor left off.

“The laws of gravity have been broken, and you’re the guy who broke them. Now, you’re on a run for your life, sprinting rightside-up and upside-down to elude your pursuers. Captured? No problem—one of your clones takes over and the race continues,” he explains.

Apparently, Gravity Guy was not the only one to have been cloned, as other inhabitants of his world have suffered a similar fate as well.

When it comes to the hero, however, seven different clones are available for Windows Phone players to use, each with its own set of abilities: Neon, Troop, Girl, Slim, Beast, Mech and Beauty.

“Our brave Guy now finds himself on top of towers running for his life, jumping from one platform to another, while avoiding many hazards placed across his path,” the game’s description reads.

“Just tap the button on the right side of the screen to raise the lifts and on the right to perform a jump - which will definitely come in handy!”

While playing, users will also have to collect coins to unlock new power slots, and will need to level up to get bonuses, the Miniclip team behind the game explains.

For those out of the loop, we should note that Gravity Guy 2 is only one of the new mobile games that has arrived on Windows Phone 8 today, and that some more will be released soon, including Temple Run.
