It was only last week that fans got excited when the sequel to the most beloved children's story in the world about the boy wizard coming of age, “Harry Potter,” was announced to be coming to theaters in November 2016. Today, there are rumors that the director for the project could be Alfonso Cuaron, responsible for last year's visual triumph, “Gravity.”

“Fanstastic Beast and Where to Find Them” is going to be based on the book with the same name written by J.K. Rowling in 2001. The rumor connecting Cuaron with the project comes via Empire, which claims that the director could return to the series for the first time since he directed “Harry Potter: The Prisoner of Azkaban” in 2004.

At the moment, it is believed that the action of the new film is going to take place in New York, some 70 years before the action in “Harry Potter” has ever happened, so it would mean sometime in the 1920s. Also, there is a lot of evidence pointing out to the fact that the movie is just the first part in a future trilogy.

Rowling had this to say about the action in the book, “Although it will be set in the worldwide community of witches and wizards where I was so happy for 17 years, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the Harry Potter series, but an extension of the wizarding world. The laws and customs of the hidden magical society will be familiar to anyone who has read the Harry Potter books or seen the films, but Newt's story will start in New York, 70 years before Harry's gets underway.”
