Singer – guitarist Bob Weir, who founded Grateful Dead, was performing with his band Furthur in New York earlier this week when he started feeling ill and collapsed on stage. Video of the incident is above.

Fans at the Capitol Theater in Port Chester, where Furthur was closing a 9-show residency, were shocked to see the iconic rocker lean to his side, stumble, and fall during a performance of “Unbroken Chain.”

He was helped out immediately, as the video shows, but he refused to leave the stage until the song was over, so he continued to perform sitting down on a chair provided for him.

He did not return on stage afterwards, with band member Phil Lesh telling the audience that he had hurt his shoulder and could no longer perform.

The exact cause of his collapse remains unknown, but fans are hoping it’s nothing serious.
