Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 mobile operating system should arrive on the market in about three months, in case things work out as expected, and application developers around the world have already started to announce the upcoming availability of software solutions built for the platform. Among them, we can count Graphic.ly, the digital media platform for comic books and communities, which says that its future plans include the release of an application that would bring its comic books to the upcoming mobile OS.

For the time being, the company's immediate plans included the launch of an application for computers based on Microsoft's Windows 7 operating system. According to the company, the solution has been optimized to work with upcoming Windows-based tablets that would sport touch interfaces. However, software solutions aimed at mobile operating systems are also set to arrive from the company, and they should be aimed at the iPad, Android and Windows Phone 7, according to a recent article on WMPoweruser.

“This is the year that will change comics forever, extending the experience of welcoming and acceptance of the comic book store into the digital marketplace where they’ll be exposed to the largest audience ever,” said Micah Baldwin, CEO of Graphic.ly. “To maximize that audience, we’re going to lead the charge to bring the digital media store to every platform and device. Today we’re proud to be the first on Windows 7 and there will be more to come.”

The desktop and mobile applications should be complemented by a web app later during the ongoing year, the company announced. The Graphic.ly online store should get a face-lift, following which the fresh content would be better highlighted. Currently, the store includes over 600 titles, with prices that range from free to up to $1.99. The comic titles included in the store come from some of the largest publishers, including Archaia, Arcana, Archie, BOOM! Studios, IDW Publishing, and TopCow.
