Grand Theft Auto V is going to be launched later this year, according to games industry analyst Michael Pachter, who shared his insight about the game and how he believes that its developer and publisher, Rockstar Games, will reveal it to the world right at the beginning of June, before E3 2012.

Quite a lot of great games will be released this year but by far one of the most important is Grand Theft Auto V, with Rockstar generating a huge amount of hype many months ago when it presented the first trailer for the game.

Since then, no other details were revealed about GTA V, so many people are speculating when it might actually be launched.

Speaking during the latest episode of GTTV, games industry analyst Michael Pachter has once again voiced his opinion on GTA V and how he believes that Rockstar won’t announce it at E3 2012 in June.

“No question the biggest game of the year is Grand Theft Auto V. Previous GTA games (III, Vice City and San Andreas) were announced at E3 but Rockstar Games has outgrown the show, I think it’s way too cool to go,” Pachter said.

Instead, he believes that Rockstar will actually trump E3 2012 and present GTA V to the world right before the large games convention.

“My read on those guys is they like stealing the thunder from everything else. So if I had to bet, I’d say you’d get an announcement on GTA V the day before E3 starts, that’d be Monday, June 4. they don’t show up and that’s all anybody can do is talk about GTA V at the show .”

In terms of the game’s actual launch, Pachter once again believes that Grand Theft Auto V will be launched at the end of the year, on October 23.

While such a date is close to another major release, in the form of BioShock: Infinite, the analyst reckons that Rockstar won’t care what its partner, 2K Games, will publish during that month.

What do you think? Will Rockstar reveal GTA V before E3 and release it before the end of the year?
