The game does not work for the moment, even if purchased

Rockstar Games launched Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas on iOS platform about a week ago and promised Android users will be able to grab it as well later on.

Well it seems the game has just been released on Google Play Store, but fans of the franchise may want to wait until developers fix some of the issues that prevent those who purchase it from actually playing it.

Before paying the necessary amount to acquire Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas know that none of those who downloaded the game haven't been able to play it.

Here is what some of the Android users that wanted to give it a try first hand are reporting:

“What It crashes after trying to start game. Wow rockstar u keep disappointing Android fans. Just cause I love Gta if now I wouldn't buy your stuff when u only show love to ios,” says Alejandro Guijosa.

… and here is another one:

“Waste of my money A bit of a shame that I spent money on this, only to have it not work at all. The game won't load into the actual campaign.

I tried switching the Android runtime from ART to Dalvik, turning off Bluetooth controller, signing out of SocialClub, and reinstalling the game. Nothing worked. Maybe some testing of the game before release would be logical. What a shame. EDIT: Second update today still doesn't fix the crash bugs. UGH,” added James Stowe.

We recommend Android users not to purchase the game until it's actually playable, but seeing what Matthew Campbell has to say, I think we're in for a long wait:

“Rockstar does it again. Okay, so we now have a working version of GTA:SA, as in works to listen to the music from the title screen. But it's still stuck w/o the ability to start a game, after 2 day one updates. Sigh.”

Just so you know Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for Android is now available for purchase for $6.99 / €5.99 via Google Play store. The game should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 3.0 and up.
