Rockstar Games confirms that it is bringing back the special Festive Surprise gifts for players of its Grand Theft Auto 5 Online experience, so that all those who couldn't go online due to the outages experienced by the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live can still get them.

Grand Theft Auto launched back in September of last year for the PS3 and Xbox 360, and reached the PS4 and Xbox One in November. The title quickly went on to impress tens of millions of players from around the world, both with its great single-player story campaign and with its intense multiplayer mode, which has since received lots of patches and updates filled with new content from Rockstar.

The Festive Surprise was affected by the PSN and XBL outages

For the winter holidays, Rockstar Games introduced the Festive Surprise update, which brought snow and many other items, from weapons to customization gear, for players to enjoy in the GTA Online multiplayer mode.

Among them were special gifts that appeared temporarily in the inventory of players on Christmas day. Unfortunately, during that period, both the PlayStation Network and the Xbox Live online services were plagued by outages due to the influx of new users, as plenty of people who got PS4 or Xbox One consoles rushed to play with them, and due to DDoS attacks, launched by the Lizard Squad group.

Rockstar extended the period in which the gifts could be redeemed but many people, especially on the PS4 or PS3, still missed out on the gifts.

The gifts are coming back in the next couple of days

As such, Rockstar now confirms on its Support Twitter that it's bringing back the gifts for GTA Online on New Year's Eve (December 31) and New Year's Day (January 1), meaning those who missed out on them on Christmas and in the following days after it can still enjoy them.

"In case you missed out, the GTA Online Festive Surprise inventory gifts will be available again on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day," the studio revealed.

As such, you might want to jump back into the GTA Online experience in the following couple of days in order to receive your goodies.
