Gran Turismo 5, the real driving simulator, as it is marketed, might get besides the 1,000 cars it will feature, other means of transportation, including motorcycles, at least according to its lead designed Kazunori Yamauchi.

Gran Turismo 5 is currently the most talked about game, as it was recently delayed once more to this year's holiday season, and due to the fact that it has been in development for a long time at Japanese studio Polyphony Digital.

We also heard quite a few interesting things from the game's designer, Kazunori Yamauchi, who talked about the frame-rate issues that plagued the high definition game and how its development was pretty hard on the team.

Now, it seems that Yamauchi is quite fond of getting motorcycles into the game, besides the 1,000 or so cars that will be present in the final build of the racing title.

According tot he developer, the environments in Gran Turismo 5 allow the use of bikes, but the studio is currently hard at work just getting it done and will focus on other content afterward.

"The environment we have right now allows us to drive motorcycles, but we need to get Gran Turismo 5 done first," Polyphony boss Kazunori Yamauchi revealed. "Once that's out of the way, if there's a strong demand for bikes, that's something we'd consider."

Gran Turismo 5 is set to feature a record number of cars and tracks, all extremely detailed and with realistic handling.

The game was first revealed many years ago, but it never got a concrete release date until this year.

It was revealed that it will be arriving in its native Japan this spring, but was then pushed back to November of this year.

As you all know by now, Gran Turismo 5 was delayed once more, and now it is aimed at a holiday season release date, so we might see it before the end of 2010.
