Sony has announced a new release date for the PlayStation 3 exclusive racing title Gran Turismo 5, which is now expected to be out on November 2. The publisher showed off a new trailer for the videogame confirming that the extra time the development team at Polyphony Digital needed was used to introduce three dimensional support to the much delayed game.

The Japanese giant has also confirmed that Gran Turismo 5 will be getting a Collector's Edition featuring a car guide that has no less than 300 car guides, showing the players what supercars they can race and how to best handle them, but also with a key chain, an a model of the Nissan GT-4R Spec V that is 43 times smaller than the real life vehicle.

Those who choose to get the Collector's Edition will also have a certificate of authenticity with a serial number and a voucher than can be used in order to get five more cars from the PlayStation Network once the game is out. The price is set to be 99.99 dollars.

Gran Turismo 5 has long been touted by Sony as being one of the big exclusive launches for the PlayStation 3, destined to bring the fans of the series over to the new home console. The game is set to offer realistic physics and a very different handling model depending on the car the player uses. The developers from Polyphony Digital have also confirmed that they plan to allow gamers to fully customize their vehicles.

Initial launch dates were set for 2009 but despite claims that the development process cost more than 50 million dollars, Sony chose to keep working on the game and make it one of the leading titles that take advantage of the three dimensional capabilities of the PlayStation 3. Let's just hope that no more delays will be involved.
