Because the Academy doesn’t do anything half-measure, the event that marked the announcement of the Grammy nominations was turned into a one-hour special on CBS, hosted by LL Cool J and mixed with performances from some of the biggest names in the industry today.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Keith Urban, Taylor Swift, and Miguel, all took the stage to perform. Drake was also supposed to take to the stage to do the same but, for some reason, he backed down just one day before, citing some mysterious “scheduling conflicts.”

In between the performances, the nominees for just 6 categories were announced, with the full list made public shortly afterwards, on the Grammy official site.

The winners will be announced on Sunday, January 26, 2014, in a show that will also air on CBS. To see if your favorite made the cut and, as such, if you should be rooting for him next month, check out the complete list of nominees below.
