The multiplayer shooter needs a bit more time for polishing

Developer Monolith and Warner Bros. have announced that Gotham City Impostors has been pushed back from its initial early January release into next month, as the feedback from the beta stage has prompted the studio to continue working on it.

Gotham City Impostors is a team-based, multiplayer-only first person shooter, where players can select different characters, crudely dressed either as Batman or the Joker, choose weapons and powers, and then battle it out through locations of the famous comic book city.

While the game was set to go online this month, its developer and publisher have now announced that the launch date has been pushed back to ensure a polished experience.

“Given the vast amount of feedback and data we received during our Beta, the Gotham City Impostors launch date is being moved to the February time frame,” the companies said. “Your participation was tremendous. Many thanks for playing. Please stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.”

Until we have a concrete release date, however, PC, PS3 or Xbox 360 players will have to keep on waiting for the new game.
