By now, we’ve probably all grown accustomed to the quirky sound and look of Florence + The Machine, and Florence Welch in particular. If so, it’s time to rethink that.
Speaking a while about how she wanted the video for “Shake It Out” to look, the first single off the band’s upcoming album “Ceremonials,” Florence said she wanted it to be like a “a psychedelic 1920s dress party.”
Mission accomplished.
The Dawn Shadforth-directed video plays out like a masquerade ball on crack, with masked tango dancers, vampire-ish looking guests and spiritual mediums – and, of course, Florence in haute couture.
Think “Eyes Wide Shut” meets “Possession,” with a healthy dose of Florence’s unique brand of beauty and style, and you get a fair idea of what to expect from “Shake It Out.”
Allow yourself to succumb to the temptation of the night with this new video.
