While back in the UK rival Jamie Oliver is cooking up a fortune with his latest book release, Gordon Ramsay has been slammed in the US for his book “Gordon Ramsay’s World Kitchen: Recipes from The F-Word.”

Though the book has been selling well since release, it’s not exactly what nutritionists would recommend to anyone looking to keep their weight – and health – under control.

In fact, the Herald Sun reports, it’s precisely the contrary: it’s been dubbed the unhealthiest, therefore the worst, cookbook to be released in the US this year.

At least, that’s what the US health body Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine makes of it. The book simply contains too many ingredients that are not good for anyone, let alone for people who may be trying to keep their weight under control, it is being said.

“Ramsay has traveled to the ends of the Earth to bring back dishes that will wreak havoc on your health,” the Committee says.

“In the book, the F Word host offers up such dishes as a recipe for British Pheasant Casserole, which calls for two birds, smoked bacon, butter, and double cream – hardly the stuff of Weight Watchers,” the Herald Sun writes.

Trisha Yearwood and Ina Garten’s books have also been included on the Committee’s list of worst offerings in terms of recipe books, with one spokesperson saying one would expect these celebrity chefs to think of health first and foremost.

Of course, that’s not to say that taste must be compromised, but rather that a balance must be found, because these recent offerings have gone overboard, including mostly recipes that are genuine health bombs.

“They use some of the worst possible ingredients in terms of nutritional profiles. They’re using lots of heavy cream and butter and going all out in terms of fat and calories,” Susan Levin, nutrition education director of the Committee, says.
