A few months ago Google started a new program to showcase how its products could be used to make your everyday life better. It chose weddings as an example of an 'every day' event that can benefit from Google apps.

At the time, it also announced a sweepstakes in which the winner will get $25,000 towards perfect wedding with the help of a professional wedding planner.

Now, Google has announced the winners of the sweepstakes, Philong Nguyen and Nhu-Y Nguyen of Houston, Texas. They are planning a September wedding and are already working on it, with the help of Google.

"We announced Google.com/Weddings to help couples during the wedding planning process. Since launch, we’ve been overwhelmed by the positive feedback with over 700,000 visits," Google's Peter Harbison wrote.

"As part of that announcement, we partnered with Michelle Rago to not only help us with creative direction but also with hosting a wedding sweepstakes. The prize is $25,000 towards a dream wedding designed by Michelle," he added.

It seems that the program proved quite successful and maybe a lot of people are having an easier time organizing their wedding with the help of Google.

A number of products were highlighted as coming in handy in this type of occasions, Picasa, Google Sites or Google Docs. The winners of the sweepstakes have put Google's suggestions to the test.

"Philong and Nhu-Y are currently using Google Docs to organize every facet of their wedding; Google Sites to build their wedding website, Picasa Web Albums to share photos with friends and Picnik to edit their photos," Harbison wrote.

Google may already be one of the biggest web companies out there and its products may be used by millions, but most people aren't all that interested in technology which is why Google is working on showing them just how it can help.
