A new way to navigate through the US Government bureaucracy

USA government related informations are now only a few clicks away with the new service made available by Google. Tailored for those working in the government, for the contractors and the public, the site offers easy access to federal, state and local government web pages.

Google U.S. Government has been personalized in order to attend the needs of the target audience, offering links to White House and governmental news and information on American forces around the world. In a display of patriotism, Google even customized its own logo, transforming the letter "l" in a pole for the U.S. flag.

The site is meant to unify the dispersed governmental web pages and those of the central and territorial agencies under Google's umbrella, in order to make the centralized information available to Google's users that, in April, helped the online giant claim half of United States' search market.

"People are moving away from directory access to enter these sites," said Kevin Gough, product manager for Google U.S. Government Search. "They just want to type in a few words to pinpoint the information they need." He also added that Google might build similar sites for other governments.
