At the end of April, we published an article where we tried to guess which way Google will go and what new services it might release in the following period.

The likelihood of Google getting involved in mobile services was 100% and it seems we were right. One month and a half after our article, Brin and Page launched Google Mobile Web Search, a service aimed at cellular telephony.

Launching this service now, when the competition with Yahoo and MSN has reached epic proportions, means a step forward for Google and points out a careful strategy planning.

The hundreds of millions of cell phones represent a huge market a few companies dared to explore. Google is the first search engine which penetrates the market of cellular telephony, a market which has all the chances to exceed the PC market which consists of approximately 1 billion systems.

Moreover, we might soon see advertising services aimed at Google Mobile Web Search which will add some dozens if not hundreds of millions in Google's accounts.

Google was the first to enter the cell phone race and we are ready to make a bet that in less than a month Yahoo and MSN will launch similar services. Because that's the way the cookie crumbles in the IT world.
