WordPress, one of the most popular blog platforms on the Internet, is now promoting Google's Apps as the easiest solution to get the email straight on your blog. This move is at least interesting because WordPress is often regarded as the main competitor for Google's Blogger, a blog service that owns one of the largest community of bloggers on the Internet. Obviously, Google appreciates the praises and replies with a similar move, congratulating the WordPress team for the 1 million blogs they own.

"Everyone who has mapped a domain to their blog (subdomains excluded) can now take advantage of the Google Apps email service, which is free to use and takes just a few minutes to configure. There is no extra charge to add email to your blog; it is included in the domain mapping upgrade," the WordPress team described the interoperability between the two services. "We were also thrilled to see that WordPress now recommends Google Apps for custom-domain email accounts to bloggers who have their own internet domains. This means that bloggers who use WordPress can send and receive email for free with Google Apps on the same domain where they publish their WordPress blogs," Jeremy Milo, Google Apps Marketing Manager, added.

As you might know, Google's Apps was often regarded as the best alternative for the old-fashioned Microsoft Office, offering almost the same solutions but in online mode. Obviously, the competition is more than hard-hearted, Google trying to challenge the Redmond company with new flavors of Apps and special offers. For example, the search giant tried to go beyond the three versions of Google Apps, Standard, Premier and Education, and offered a partner solution that allows the allied companies to implement the suite of tools.
