The Mountain View company is quietly preparing a move that might cause a little disappointment at Redmond because it can improve the Google Office with more powerful tools. The search giant Google is currently in talks for a possible deal with Salesforce.com, a company that is based on customer relationship management. As you might know, the Redmond company Microsoft tries to promote its special set of tools, targeting the same segment of users as Google. According to ComputerworldUK, the Salesforce officials scheduled a meeting for Tuesday, 5 June, to announce the deal with Google and to provide more information. However, the company's representatives refused to comment an agreement with the Mountain View firm, saying that they are "willing to do anything".

"We're a catalyst for change. Google, Amazon.com, eBay and Yahoo inspire us. We want to duplicate what they do in the consumer world. We're just trying to get to a billion dollars in on-demand software before anyone else does. We're willing to do anything," Marc Benioff, Salesforce.com CEO, told financial analysts earlier this month according to ComputerworldUK.

Until now, Google represented a powerful partnership for Salesforce because the search giant distributed adverts using the company's websites. However, it seems that the upcoming agreement is more than that as the two firms plan to improve the current Google offering and make it more competitive for the rivals.

As you know, Google's suite of tools was often described as the best alternative for Microsoft's Office because it provides almost the same tools but in online mode. Along with the communication tools, you're able to use a document editor, a spreadsheet creator and, in the next future, a presentation tool that will compete with Microsoft's PowerPoint. Although this last tool was rumored a long time ago, Google recently confirmed it, saying that Presently will be bundled in the Google Apps suite.
