The base cost is $30,000 for 500,000 indexed documents

The Mountain View has upgraded the Google Search Appliance. Designed for implementation in corporate environments, the device is marketed as a corporate search solution bundling hardware and software to deliver a Google search equivalent to businesses.

"The Google Search Appliance makes the sea of lost and misplaced data on your web servers, file servers, content management systems, relational databases and business applications instantly available from a single familiar search box. Through an interface as simple and intuitive as Google.com, your employees will have instant, real-time secure access to all the information and knowledge across your entire enterprise - in more than 220 different file formats, and in over 109 different languages," revealed Google.

In this context, the upgraded corporate search solution has been built to index million of documents, while integrating corporate security guidelines into the search. Google Search Appliance comes with a price tag of minimum $30,000 for the indexation of 500,000 documents.
