Most web surfers are familiar with Google's way of advertising on various web pages. The Google AdWords is a way in which both Google and the sites that subscribe to this service can make money. The AdWords service, which is part of Google's advertisement program, makes use of the content found on a specific webpage to render content related text advertisements, on that same page. The links can provide webmasters with considerable revenue, if their site has considerable number of visitors.

It seems that Google is planning to take the AdSense service to a whole new level. Web browsers, who will be looking for various images on the Web, might encounter illustrated advertisements, alongside the search results. By searching for new ways to improve the revenue growth, Google is trying to counteract their slow revenue growth. It appears that the Mountain View giant had a gross growth of approximately 56 percent last year. Oppositely, in 2006, the company recorded a revenue growth of approximately 76 percent.

On Wednesday, Marissa Mayer, a Google vice president, told Bloomberg Radio that there is considerable potential in advertising revenue from illustrated advertisements. The Mountain View company seems to have taken a keen interest in the new adverting approach. Marrissa Mayer also stated that the company hasn't found yet a way to properly monetize image search, but the future release of the ads-image is to be expected.

Google is trying to make the new product as enjoyable for the user as possible. Until then, image search is pretty much free of advertisements. Marrissa Mayer also added that the project is still being tested, but no users have been showed how the respective ads are going to look like. When the new illustrated advertisements are released, the users' image search experience will most certainly be changed.
