Now, anyone can Talk

The "Now anyone can Talk" invitation is more like a desperate cry as Google Talk is at the bottom of the Instant Messaging market. Debuted in 2005, Google Talk has been as far connected with Gmail. According to a post published by Mike Jazayeri, Product Manager, Google Talk on the official Google Blog, the Mountain View Company has given the instant messaging client a little bit of independence by opening the program to users without a Gmail account.

And, as the service is opened for sign-ups, Jazayeri is also delivering a few reasons in order to convince users to give Google Talk a try. Free and crystal clear voice calls to your friends and family anywhere in the world, transfer files and folders to others, free voicemail messages (MEEP!) and IM from your BlackBerry are the arguments used by Jazayeri to convince users to sign-up. But it is highly unlikely that the new Google Talk initiative will shake the Yahoo-Microsoft IM alliance with over 350 million users.

"Just sign up, invite some friends, and you can be chatting with them in minutes. There are millions of people around the world to chat with! There are, however, still some features including chat histories and mail notifications that will only work if you sign into Google Talk with a Gmail account. Either way, we encourage you to give it a try," he concludes.
