The Mountain View company is continuously opening new offices in every corner of the world but this time, it's something very important. Google announced its plans to expand the Kirkland office, a move that might have unexpected consequences since the Seattle emperor is the Redmond-rival, Microsoft. The Seattle Times today wrote that Google already started the construction for a new building which is quite close to the other office owned by the search giant.

"The greater Seattle area is of great significance to us as a base for recruiting, as a home to our current employees, and we're looking forward to having a greater number of future employees there, as well as having customers, partners and of course users in the area. So, as we are a rapidly growing company, we're taking advantage of this opportunity to acquire more space in Kirkland," spokesman Jon Murchinson said for the Seattle Times.

According to Wikipedia, Google had no less than 13,748 employees on June 30 but the number continues to grow, since the Mountain View company opens new offices in every corner of the world. Justin Uberti, Google employee, confirmed the plans and added that the Mountain View wants to hire several thousands engineers.

"As mentioned today in the Seattle Times, Google has signed a lease to occupy a new three-building office campus in Kirkland just down the street from our current offices. At 180,000 square feet, this will provide a lot of much-needed space as we grow our staff from the current 400+ employees to the goal of "several thousand". No word yet on whether the Kirkland campus will feature a Tyrannosaurus skeleton," he wrote today.

As you can see, slowly but surely, Google conquers the world and, if some of the users don't like the search giant, they might become one of the employees working at the Googleplex.
