It's no secret that Gmail is one of the most popular mail solutions on the Internet because it provides numerous powerful features available for free. The product was released in April 2004 and since then, it was available only by invitation as a private beta. Starting February 2007, the mail solution is available for free without any limitation or invitation, any user being able to register for a mail account. Today, the parent company Google makes an important step to improve the product to suit the users' needs, releasing a poll with potential Gmail features.

"Please note that if you report a technical issue or a security concern in this form, we will not reply to your message - please use the Gmail Help Center to contact us regarding these and other issues. Please select up to five features from the list below. We've categorized the list for your convenience. If your feature request is not shown, please share it in the "I have a better idea" section," Google said in the description of the form.

There are numerous interesting features but two of them are surely the animal emoticons and the "have Gmail do my laundry" option. However, there are several useful functions such as the integration with other Google products or additional abilities to sort the messages stored in your account.

In the recent period, the fight between the mail solutions is more important for all the companies because most of the Internet users are struggling to find a powerful solution able to provide eye-candy interface, well-developed spam filters and easy to use functions. At this time, the battle between Gmail and Yahoo Mail keeps the front page of the newspapers as there are no other products able to challenge them.
