Google News might be defeated by other services using its own weapons, as it seems that the search giant prepares several deals with the publications indexed on the service. This means that the Mountain View company might be forced to pay for the content published on the page although it managed to bring a lot of traffic for the registered pages. However, it seems that Google tried to keep these agreements private because the company is afraid that most of the news publishers will require the same deals. According to the Sunday Herald, Google decided to make these partnerships because more and more users criticized the company for the procedure of Google News.

As you might know, Google News is quite a revolutionary product because it receives news and information from no more than 4500 free sources. Then, the company organizes the headlines on multiple categories and publishes them on the official page. To avoid potential problems with the author of the articles, Google News displays the link to the original source. This way, the company offers a considerable amount of traffic to the news' author; the search giant managed to provide an impressive news solution.

However, the Mountain View company was often criticized because some of the users sustained that Google News is not quite fair as the company receives praises for the content provided by other publishers. Then, several Belgian newspapers sued Google and accused the company for copyright infringement, sustaining that the search giant published headlines without their authorization. A Belgian court ordered Google to remove all the titles from the page and to avoid publishing the information offered by the publications. Using the recently signed deals, Google wants to avoid these problems and to remain safe as long as the author of the headlines agrees to publish his information on Google News.
