It has been a long and bumpy road, but the Nexus 7 is finally ready to support the Verizon 4G LTE network.

With a few short hours before the device sales kickstart in shops and online, Google has pushed a software update for the tablet which brings full Verizon LTE functionality on the Nexus 7 2013 tablets, reports AndroidPolice.

The new software is Android 4.4.2 KVT49L and will enable any users to simply add a Verizon line, without going through a bunch of complicated procedures like before.

The update is also said to fix the current issue for customers who are already onboard with Verizon, namely the inability to access data via LTE and via a local Wi-Fi at the same time.

The new build includes a new software radio version (DEB-H00_2.42.0_1024) and is only 37MB. Those still looking to purchase the Nexus 7 will be able to do so off Verizon for $250 / €183 with the traditional contract.
