The company praises its mail technology

Gmail is surely one of the most popular email technologies on the web but this doesn't necessarily mean that it is also very powerful and efficient in all its features. For example, Google sustains Gmail manages to block most spam messages coming into its inboxes but I must say I'm pretty disappointed with Gmail's spam filters. And let me tell you why. Since a few months ago, when my account was spammed with unsolicited messages distributed by other Gmail accounts, my inbox is continuously assaulted by at least five spam emails per day. And God knows I didn't published my email address on any website or service which could add me in their spam list.

But Google sustains Gmail's filters work pretty fine. "We're keeping more spam out of your inbox than ever before, so more and more, you can use Gmail for things you enjoy without even realizing that the spam filter is there most of the time," Brad Taylor, Software Engineer, wrote on the Google Blog. "Now, I'm not saying we're perfect, but the really good news is that it seems like spammers are finally starting to get discouraged. Attempts to spam Gmail users have been leveling off over the last year and more recently, even declining slightly."

I like Gmail and I'm pretty addicted to it, but I think my account is somehow an exception to the statement above. Just look at the picture attached to the article. That's my Gmail account. As you can see, there are no less than 1655 spam messages in my account (which came in the last month or so) with at least five of them managing to reach my inbox. I admit the Gmail filter manages to block most of the spam messages but please trust me, I almost abandoned Gmail due to the credit cards and health insurances offered to me straight into my inbox.

But I know Gmail is the best and there's no other technology with the same powerful offering and well-developed functions at this time. And I also know the Gmail team is continuously working on the spam filters so I hope I will be able to read my messages without having to press the 'Report Spam' button for so many times.
