If you're one of the numerous Mac OS X fans, you probably know that the Cupertino company scheduled the release of Leopard, the latest version of its operating system on Friday. Because of that, the software developers from all over the world struggled to make their applications compatible with Leopard in order to allow the early adopters of the Apple solution to use their technologies. Google is only one of them and as Mark Sabec, Associate Product Marketing Manager and Mike Pinkerton, Software Engineer, today sustained it seems like it somehow managed to reach its goal. According to the two officials, Google Desktop is already able to work on Leopard while other solutions will be able soon.

At this time, Google has only a few products compatible with Mac OS X system but all of them will be Leopard-compatible, the search giant states. Among the Google Mac OS X products, I can mention Google Earth, Gmail Notified and Picasa Web Albums Uploaders. All of them will get Leopard support very soon.

However, please keep in mind that you must install the Leopard updates of the Google applications before you migrate to the new Mac OS X. If you install the latest version after you put Leopard on your Mac, the program might crash and return errors.

"So we want to let you know about an update for Google Desktop for the Mac that adds Leopard compatibility. You should install this Desktop update before upgrading from Tiger to Leopard to ensure that Desktop works properly on Leopard. If after you upgrade to Leopard, your Google Desktop appears to be functioning incorrectly, please look at the release notes for troubleshooting information," the two officials wrote on the official Google Mac Blog today.

The latest version of Google Desktop for Mac is also listed on Softpedia so you can take it using the following link.
